Response of forest productivity to changes in growth and fire regime due to climate change

چکیده

Climate change is having complex impacts on the boreal forest, modulating both tree growth limiting factors and fire regime. However, these aspects are usually projected independently when estimating climate effect forest. Using a combination of three different methods, our goal to assess combined impact changes in regime due timber supply at transitions from closed open coniferous forests Québec, Canada. To identify areas that likely be most sensitive change, we climate-induced activity time periods: 2011–2040 RCP 8.5 for low minimum activity, 2071–2100 4.5 moderate medium high maximum activity. Our study shows importance incorporating strategic forest management planning especially context change. Under extreme scenarios, negative productive area total volume mostly offsets positive effects via improved growth.

Response of vegetation distribution, ecosystem productivity, and fire to climate change scenarios for California

The response of vegetation distribution, carbon, and fire to three scenarios of future climate change was simulated for California using the MC1 Dynamic General Vegetation Model. Under all three scenarios, Alpine/Subalpine Forest cover declined, and increases in the productivity of evergreen hardwoods led to the displacement of Evergreen Conifer Forest by Mixed Evergreen Forest. Grassland expan...

Bromus Response to Climate and Projected Changes with Climate Change

A prominent goal of invasive plant management is to prevent or reduce the spread of invasive species into uninvaded landscapes and regions. Monitoring and control efforts often rely on scientific knowledge of suitable habitat for the invasive species. However, rising temperatures and altered precipitation projected with climate change are likely to shift the geographic range of that suitable ha...
